Derek Dantinne Joins Rock Hill Housing Staff

ROCK HILL, SC --- Derek Dantinne recently joined the staff of Rock Hill Housing as a Level One (1) Maintenance Mechanic. In this role, Dantinne is responsible for performing minor maintenance repairs in the areas of carpentry, masonry, plastering and sheetrock, painting, mechanical tasks, plumbing, and preventative maintenance tasks.

Originally from Virginia, Dantinne relocated to the Rock Hill area in June of 2005. Dantinne has studied at Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, Virginia, as well as, the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia. Additionally, Dantinne holds an EPA Certification and is a certified Forklift Operator. With over 22 years of experience, Dantinne brings his property maintenance expertise to the agency. Prior to joining Rock Hill Housing, Dantinne served as a Maintenance Technician for PMS Charlotte LLC. In this role, Dantinne was responsible for preparing units for new tenants upon previous tenants' departure, performing general maintenance on units - including plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and drywall repair. Dantinne also previously served as a Maintenance Mechanic for Rock Hill Housing from 2008 until 2013. In this role, Dantinne was responsible for preparing units for re-occupancy, preventative maintenance tasks, and performing work requests for customers in the areas of plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and drywall repair.

Prior to this, Dantinne served as a Carpenter/Home Remodeler for JFK Construction. Dantinne was responsible for performing finished carpentry, cabinetwork, framing, drywall, plumbing, and light electrical work for various remodeling projects on single-family homes. Derek is divorced, has 3 children, and will have 2 soon to be stepchildren as a result of his engagement to Mary DeGeorge. During his free time, Dantinne enjoys art and is a freelance artist. In addition, Dantinne is a volunteer leader at Cub Scouts Pack 58.

Since 1965, Rock Hill Housing has provided housing assistance for families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities in the cities of Rock Hill and Great Falls. Rock Hill Housing has 369 public housing units, 56 multifamily units, and manages 589 Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV), previously Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, for area landlords.
