Rock Hill Housing Authority Celebrates Residents and Honors Job Program Participants at Annual Appreciation Event
Over 50 families gathered at Boyd Hill Recreation Center for a day of food, fun, and well-deserved recognition.

The Rock Hill Housing Authority (RHHA) hosted its Resident Appreciation Event on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Boyd Hill Recreation Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The event was a heartfelt gesture of gratitude to the residents who call the communities owned, managed, and maintained by the Housing Authority and its affiliate home.

A Day of Food, Fun and Community
More than 50 families turned out for an afternoon filled with celebration and camaraderie. Attendees enjoyed a complimentary spread of hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, drinks, ice cream, and more - all provided free of charge as a token of appreciation from RHHA. Children delighted in a bounce house while guests of all ages enjoyed games and lively activities throughout the event.

The excitement continued with five rounds of raffle drawings, each featuring $25 gift cards, and one drawing for a $50 gift card. The highlight of the afternoon was the grand prize raffle - a brand-new 43-inch flat screen television generously donated by James Ford, CEO of the Boys and Girls Club. The generous donation drew tremendous applause and added an extra layer of excitement to the day's festivities.

Honoring Jobs Plus Program Participants
A meaningful highlight of the event was the recognition of over 147 individuals who participated in the Authority's Jobs Plus Program - a workforce development initiative designed to connect public housing residents with employment opportunities and career advancement resources. Certificates of Achievement were distributed to all participants in attendance, honoring their dedication and hard work in the program.
