Aaliyah Douglas Joins Rock Hill Housing Staff

ROCK HILL, SC --- Aaliyah Douglas recently joined the staff of Rock Hill Housing serving as Jobs Plus Community Coach.

In this role, Douglas will serve as a liaison between the residents, Jobs Plus team, PHA and local service providers. Aaliyah interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals including supervisor(s), co-workers, local, state, and federal officials, contractors, and other outside agencies. In her position as a Jobs Plus Community Coach, Aaliyah will promote self-sufficiency efforts and/or encourage residents to build informal support networks with other residents, family, and friends. Aaliyah will also be responsible for promoting the utilization of the Jobs Plus Program and its partnership with SC Works as a job search resource. In addition, Aaliyah provides referrals to Jobs Plus Career Coaches for residents who may need services such as: credit counseling, transportation assistance, childcare assistance, money management, homeownership counseling, and more.

Aaliyah is a Rock Hill native. Aaliyah is a 2013 graduate of Northwestern High School.

Aaliyah has over 3 years of valuable experience in Sales. Prior to joining Rock Hill Housing, Aaliyah served as a Sales Agent for Tranzact/Blue Cross and Blue Shield where she assisted the elderly in the review and renewal of health plans. She was also responsible for enrolling customers into Medicare parts C and D. Aaliyah has work experience with Spectrum Business as a Sales Agent. Her responsibilities while at Spectrum included the promotion and presentation of products and the sale of a variety of products. In addition, her responsibilities included engaging customers and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Aaliyah Douglas has two children, Carmen, and Michael. During their free time, she enjoys reading, writing, spending time with her children and going out on nature walks. Aaliyah also enjoys eating and sampling new foods.

Since 1965, Rock Hill Housing has provided housing assistance for families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities in the cities of Rock Hill and Great Falls. Rock Hill Housing has 369 public housing units and manages 608 Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV), previously Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, for area landlords.
