Ariah J. Massey Joins Rock Hill Housing Staff

Ariah J. Massey - Jobs Plus Career Coach.

ROCK HILL, SC --- Ariah J. Massey recently joined the staff of Rock Hill Housing as a Jobs Plus Career Coach.

In this role, Massey will recruit and enroll RHA Residents into the Jobs Plus Program through marketing the Jobs Plus Program and collaborating with outside agencies. After enrolling a Resident, Massey will help the Resident create a resume and locate job opportunities. Transportation and daycare assistance may be provided as well.

Originally from Rock Hill, SC, Massey holds a master's in social work from Winthrop University and bachelor's in social work from Winthrop University. Additionally, Massey holds an AS+K certification.

Massey brings her teaching and counseling expertise to the agency. Prior to Joining Rock Hill Housing, Massey served as the Assistant Teacher for Tega Cay, SC Village Montessori. In this role, Massey supported children's emotional and social development while encouraging the understanding of others and positive self-concepts. Massey, early in her career, served as the Resident Assistant for Lee Wicker Hall, Winthrop University. In this role, Massey upheld FERPA confidentiality standards regarding resident incidents and student information. Massey served as the Lead Teacher for Journey 5:11 Academy, Rock Hill. In this role, Massey instructed children through reading, songs, everyday life lessons, and art. Massey also served as an Intern for Rock Hill Schools. In this role, Massey coordinated a mobile food pantry, developed a social support guide, and supported children's emotional and social growth.

Since 1965, Rock Hill Housing has provided housing assistance for families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities in the cities of Rock Hill and Great Falls. Rock Hill Housing has 369 public housing units and manages 589 Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV), previously Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, for area landlords.
