April M. Witherspoon Joins Rock Hill Housing Staff

ROCK HILL, SC --- April Witherspoon recently joined the staff of Rock Hill Housing serving as Jobs Plus Career Coach. In this role, Witherspoon will provide career coaching and coordinate employment and education services to program participants.

Originally from (Fort Mill, SC), Witherspoon relocated to the Rock Hill area. Witherspoon holds a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Winthrop University. Witherspoon is also a Charlotte Housing Authority Leadership Academy Graduate.

With over 15 years of experience, Witherspoon brings her human services expertise to the agency. Prior to Joining Rock Hill Housing, Witherspoon served as the Resident Opportunity Self-Sufficiency FSS Homeownership Coordinator for INLIVIAN, Formerly the Charlotte Housing Authority. In this role, Witherspoon Recruited diverse student populations, organized strategic marketing programs, and assisted eligible residents in pursuing homeownership. Witherspoon also previously served as the Senior Services Team Lead for INLIVIAN, Formerly the Charlotte Housing Authority. In this role, Witherspoon co-managed the Services Coordinator team in program service delivery tasks, and recruited eligible residents for senior adult programs. Witherspoon was also a Housing Engagement Team Lead for Housing Collaborative, Formerly Social serve. Witherspoon provided leadership, managed daily team activities, assisted landlord recruitment, and ensured compliance with company and regulatory guidelines.

Witherspoon received additional training in human resources from Central Piedmont Community College. Witherspoon has continued her education through workshops and seminars.

Witherspoon has three children. During her free time Witherspoon enjoys travel, attending sporting events.

Since 1965, Rock Hill Housing has provided housing assistance for families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities in the cities of Rock Hill and Great Falls. Rock Hill Housing has 369 public housing units and manages 614 Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV), previously Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, for area landlords.

The mission of Rock Hill Housing is to provide safe, clean, affordable housing and effective social services to low- and moderate-income families and individuals. The Rock Hill Housing team of dedicated employees and Commissioners in partnership with their residents, utilize accepted business principles and all available resources to improve the quality of life for all participants.
