Owen Phillips Joins Rock Hill Housing Staff

ROCK HILL, SC --- Owen Phillips recently joined the staff of Rock Hill Housing serving as Jobs Plus Career Coach.

In this role, Phillips will be working with residents of RHHA communities providing case management and outreach regarding the program and partner events.

Originally from Blythewood, Phillips relocated to the Rock Hill area in 2017. Phillips holds a Master's in Social Work from Winthrop University and a Bachelor's in Social Work from Winthrop University. 

With over two years of experience, Phillips brings their social work expertise to the agency. Prior to Joining Rock Hill Housing, Phillips served as a VET360 Program intern for York County Veterans Affairs. In this role, Phillips provided comprehensive case management to veterans and families along with successful completion and award of multiple Habitat for Humanity Critical Home Repairs for adaptive accommodations for disabled veterans. Phillips also previously served as the ROSS Program Social Work intern for Rock Hill Housing Authority. In this role, Phillips worked alongside Shawanda Erby in the day-to-day administration of the program. Phillips helped in the organization of multiple ROSS and community events, including a Small Business Owner Expo and Community Easter Egg Hunt.

During their free time, Phillips enjoys hanging out with friends, listening to music, and cooking!

Since 1965, Rock Hill Housing has provided housing assistance for families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities in the cities of Rock Hill and Great Falls. Rock Hill Housing has 369 public housing units and manages 589 Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV), previously Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, for area landlords.
